I pray today God for Fathers all over the land. Help them to step up to the responsibility that they themselves created. We have so many fatherless daughters that we are left trying to figure this thing out on our own; and being led down paths that leave us broke and broken.
Help them God to understand what it truly means to be a father; and what it means for them to lead their children by example. It saddens my heart to think about those children who have experienced abandonment and abuse at the hands of the ones we call father. Just as you requested your father to forgive those who would crucify you in Luke 23:34, my prayer today is that you would forgive our fathers, "for they know not what they do."
Help them Lord to understand the years of anguish and torment they leave behind; when they walk out the door. Help them to understand the confusion they leave behind when they reject out love. Lord they really don't know the detriment of the pain that is caused when we don't feel their love for us; yet we see them loving others.
Bring our Fathers back to fatherhood. You know, the day when they first met us. So what, they don't like our mothers but that doesn't give them cause not to love us. So today I pray that relationships will be restored. For those whose father is no longer with us; and you have more questions than answers, give them peace.
Dear God take care of our fathers. No matter where they are, what they have done, we love them; and today we pray that they will come to look on us as their children just as you did when you created the world. I pray that they will come to look at us, knowing that we are their creation and that yes, we are good. We did not ask for them yet we have them. Help us as children to love them no matter what.
Thank you in advance for future fathers who will lead their children as you word says in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Help them God to live by your word as it is written in Ephesians 6:4, "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."
Lord these are our fathers. Whether they are whore-mongers, alcoholics, abusers, liars, cheaters, and the list could go on, they are our fathers; and in our own little way, we love them. Therefore we ask that you will cover, shield and protect them. In Jesus name. Amen!
