As we approach a new year, let's make a pack together. The word of God tells us in Matthew 18:19, "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven." This does not mean we have to be in the same place, at the same time. Instead, as long as two of us are asking and believing God for the same thing, He will make it happen.
Because God is omnipresent, He is everywhere. In other words, He can be listening to your prayer and my prayer all at the same time; and because He is omniscient, He knows what we are both praying for. In addition, He knows why we are praying. But be very careful, He also knows if our intentions are good or bad.
In case you don't know, God is very big on relationships. He loves it when we get along and more importantly, He loves it when we look out for each other. How do I know? Ask Cain. You see, Cain was jealous of His brother Abel because of what God had done for Him. Cain took it upon himself to kill Abel, as if God wasn't going to know; and to add insult to injury, when God asked Cain about Abel, he sarcastically responded, "Am I My Brothers Keeper?" As Christians, we actually are our brothers (sisters) keeper. Not only that, Romans 14:19 tells us "we are to edify one another." In other words God expects us to build each other up.
We can only do this if we stand together. If we ask and believe together. 1 Thesalonians 5:11 tells us, "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do." In other words, when we take the concerns of others to the cross and petition God on their behalf; He will be pleased. So I encourage you to join me in praying for the concerns of those around you. Remember Philippians 2:3 says, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves" Will you meet me at the cross?
