With Jesus, life is just better. He is the most important man in the entire universe. And, He isn't just important for a short time, He is important always. Furthermore, the most important man in the universe thinks that we are important too. How do I know? He is the only man I have ever been around who gave His life for me.
Why do we allow ourselves to be depressed and distressed when Jesus died for us. Not just that, He has promised in John 14:1-3 to come again for us. "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
You see, in the eyes of Jesus, we are the most important people on earth. Our lives have value and life is so better with Him. He adds meaning and purpose to our lives. Not just that, He provides everything we need. He gives us hope and encouragement, when we feel defeated.
Acts 26:18 tells us how life would be without Jesus; "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." Further, Ephesians 5:8 tells us, "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:"
On the other side of all of this, John 10:10 gives us a clear understanding of why Jesus sacrificed His life for us; "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
Please know that abundant life is not necessarily stuff and things. In this case, abundant life is knowing that Jesus loved us so much He gave His life for us. We are so important to Him, He wants us to live; but not just live, He wants us to thrive. He wants us to have a full life. He wants me to remind you of His word in John 15:13, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
I encourage you my sisters, don't make it difficult, all we have to do is honor God's command in Matthew 22:37-38, "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment."
