Call me crazy but, I am very excited about this post. Three days ago, I was having a conversation with an old friend. She and I were talking about how things have changed so much around us. One topic led to another and before you knew it, we were discussing how important it is for us to be serious about our prayers.
Well, tonight in Bible Study, our topic of discussion was prayer. We all know there was a time when our attacks didn't seem as tough as they are right now. In my opinion, that is for two reasons. First, Satan knows we don't have a lot of time left on earth. Therefore, he is in crisis mode. He is moving a pace where if you are careless and blink your eye, he has entered and interrupted your world.
I think we can all attest to the fact that he is truly dedicated to his call. The bible tells us in Job 1:7 how Satan is all over the place; and just like some of us, when we get discovered, we tend to get a little sarcastic. In this scripture, he has been exposed, "And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.". The truth is the Lord already knows, He just wanted to see what Satan was going to say. The same holds true for us God already knows what we need before we need it. He's just waiting to see what we are going to PRAY!
The next exciting thing that the Lord dropped into my spirit was today's post topic. F times 3. I hear you saying what in the world could this be? This topic was confirmation of what I believe God has assigned me to do during the month of February. First, let me explain the meaning of this topic. Friday is February the First, thus F times 3. During the month of February, I am instructed to pray for those things in our lives that start with the letter F. Each day will be a different word, each word will be defined so that we all have a clear understanding of what it means to us. Then each post will be an intentional prayer for that word or concern in our lives.
It is my prayer that by the end of February, we will all have grown closer to the Lord through our conversations with Him. I pray you will continue to follow me as I need you to continue to pray for my obedience to this assignment. I don't know about you but I believe God is calling us out from amongst those things and people who are literally sucking the life out of us. I pray that you will open your hearts and hear whatever it is God tells me to say.
All I'm saying is God speaks to us in the most interesting way. He has made himself available to us but, he is not going to force us to receive. We just need to get quiet for a little throughout the day; and listen. Let me tell you this, if you have a gut feeling about something; or if something told you to do or not do something, as women, if we credit our intuition. What ever we call it, its all the same. It's the spirit of the Lord (Holy Ghost) resting on us and choosing us to make the next move.
Don't be alarmed by what you are feeling. Instead be encouraged knowing the Bible tells us in Matthew 22:14, "For many are called, but few are chosen." In other words, this scripture is letting us know that many people have been invited to do the will and work of the Lord; but few have been selected as one of the best or most appropriate to do what God has called us to do. With that being said, aren't you glad to be a part of the first F for the month of February? Aren't you glad to be one of the few? If you're not, I certainly am; and it is my prayer that by the end of February, you will be too.
