Dear God in Heaven, my prayer today is that you will make us fishers of men. Help us God to know that our rods are our mouths. Help us to bait them Lord with your word. Help us Lord to embrace the sea of people with whom we come into contact with everyday.
Lord please don't let us be hypocrites; please don't let our words contradict that which others see us do. Keep us Lord aligned with what you expect us to do and help us to stay on that course.
Fishing God is simply a metaphor for believers extending your word to non-believers. Believers Lord are helping bring non-believers to you. Help us Lord to extend everything that we have; not ever getting tired.
Remind us God that someone, somewhere extended their bait to us and here we are today. I am grateful for the fisher(wo)man who saw me drowning; and extended her heart and hand to me. After so many years of hurt and pain, when I accepted her offer and began to follow you, I felt truly as though you had used her to cast her net into that sea. Thank you God that for this reason, I have fishing skills that can and will help someone else come to you.
God I want you to use us just like you did Simon in Luke 5:4-7, "Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink." All I want is to be able to offer you to others and that you will use me to help bring others to you.
Thank you Jesus in advance for the harvest this prayer and this platform is going to bring to the kingdom. Keep us close to you God that we can and will be able to see your word come to life in our lives just as it has been laid out in Jeremiah 16:14-16, "Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that it shall no more be said, The Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, The Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers. Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks."
Help us to remember that your word in Luke 11:9-13 says, "And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"
Therefore Lord, this prayer is already answered in the name of Jesus. Amen!
