We all have dreams; the things we would like to have or see happen in our lives. The Bible tells us in Psalm 37:4, "Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." I have lived long enough and to personally testify that this is true. Before I begin to share my experience, let me just say, it does not happen instantaneously. You can't just make your request, snap your finger and your desires appear. Instead, it is a process; and a process that took several years for me to begin to see the results of my delight.
One of the most famous sayings attributed to Abraham Lincoln is about deception: You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time. And, if you will allow me to add my "spiritual touch", you can't fool God any of the time.
With this being said, God is not like man. We can't manipulate Him into giving us what we want. Instead, we must do things just as the Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 14:40, " Let all things be done decently and in order." Therefore, if we want to get God's attention, we have to be real with ourselves." Therefore, a good start would be Philippians 4:6-8, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
Now, the real message in this post is that God has come through for me one more time. Aside of the blessings I spoke about on yesterday, He did it again. This morning I opened an email that brought tears to my eyes. You see, before my father passed in 2014, he was coaching me into increasing my credit score to a specific place. Well, I am here to tell you I made the mark today. Not only did I reach it, I exceeded it. Ephesians 3:20, "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,"
I want to be totally transparent with you. I had been waiting so long for God to do some of the things He has done for me that I almost let go. I thought the way things were was the way they would always be. Just imagine if I had, I would not be able to help others today. But you see, God had to do the work in me and make sure I was not going to be selfish before He opened the windows of heaven. He wanted to make sure my walk was aligned with my talk. He wanted to know without any shadow of doubt I was going to honor His word in Malachi 3:10, "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."
Please don't misunderstand. Nothing comes to us without work.Same holds true with God. Yes, we know that if we ask, we will receive but, the work comes in trusting, believing, being patient, and letting Him fix it. Therefore, I want to encourage you to keep working. Keep trusting. Keep believing and one day (I can't tell you when) the windows of heaven will open for you too. I love you and I am believing God for you too.
