I love God. So many times we don't know or understand what is happening in our lives. But as long as we know that God is in control, what we don't know certainly will not hurt us. One of my biggest weaknesses was and still is sometimes centered around patience.
In the past, I often found myself wondering how long something was going to last. How long before God releases or removes me from a certain situation? Little did I know at that time that the true blessing was in the meantime. You know, the time when we ask God for something and when He finally makes it happen for us.
It is in the meantime that our faith is increased. The meantime is that place where we have to spend time with ourselves. It is the place and time where it feels like everything around is falling apart. Relationships, bank accounts, children, uncertainty about how you are going to reach your personal goals.
During my meantime experience, I learned the issue was me. The way I was looking at life caused me to feel frantic about all of the things I wanted but was not achieving at that time. I remember saying to a friend of mine, during this last transitional phase, "I can't help but wonder if things would have turned out for us the way they have, if we had left a long time ago?"
The Holy Spirit immediately convicted me by saying, "that was not your time. Your assignment was not complete. If you had left then, your decision would have messed up so many lives. This was not about you. I only used you because I knew I would get the glory." We don't always understand our meantime experience but, I would like to encourage you. Whether you understand it or not, it is the place where God puts us so He can deal with us.
I used to think it was a bad miserable place until I began to really understand Isaiah 40:31, " But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." We gotta get to that place where we really know and believe that God is God and that He is not going to leave us in this place.
Never ever forget my sisters what 2 Peter 3:8 says, "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day"; and Isaiah 55:8-12, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands."
Know this one thing, God will never lead you to a place He hasn't already prepared you for. He is in the meantime too. Trust Him for the timing of blessings in your life.
