As I ponder over my life, I can honestly say I am not the same girl. I no longer allow people to dictate who I am or who I should be. I don't let others tell me what I should and what I should not do. I have made my mistakes and I have paid the price. Am I ashamed, no I'm not; and I proud, no I'm not; have I been delivered? Absolutely.
I don't apologize for who I was, who I am, or who I am becoming. I am who I am and I am proud of that. Most importantly, I am grateful that God gave me enough time to get it right. He allowed me to see me and he allowed me to become closer to him. I don't know who is struggling with who you are, what you are doing or where you may be in life. Just know that you are exactly who you should be, doing what you should be doing, exactly where you're doing it.
Don't let other people make you feel bad because you have changed. To be honest, they didn't like you then; and more likely than not, they dislike you even more now. But, whose drama is that? If you are anything like me, and I suspect you are, if it has no bearing on my destiny, it is very insignificant to me. It is important for us to remember no matter what we do, we can not and will not ever please everyone.
I think it is interesting when people see God blessing us, they are quick to say how much we have changed. If in fact you are experiencing that right now remember this: if God be for us, who can be against us. Romans 8:31. Does it hurt? Absolutely. After all, we are human. But, does it matter? Absolutely not.
With this being said, don't allow the enemy to get in your ear and make you turn back. God has been too good, and you have come to far. So what, you're not the same. My grandmother used to say, "it's a bad storm that never changes." If others can't accept who you are right now, they will certainly not be able to accept who you are about to become.
