I am excited about today's topic because there is so much to be said about a single lady. I know many of you are thinking I am going to approach this topic from the angle of an unmarried woman. Well, let me warn you, I'm not going in that way at all. My approach to single ladies is probably going to be unique to some. You see, single by definition means only one. Not one of several. For this topic, single is going to be addressed as only one...........YOU!
How many times have we found ourselves around people who try to be something or someone they are not? They camouflage themselves with the crowd. They change their walk and most often change their talk. They want so badly to be a part of something they negate the fact that there was only one of them made by the one and only God.
Although sometimes it may feel like it, singleness is not a curse. Psalm 139:14 says, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well". In case you still don't understand, this scripture is telling us that God took the time to meticulously create each one of us. In other words, God had a vision of who He wanted us to be. With this vision in mind, He began the process by creating the body or the vessel, that carries the vision.
Whether married or not, we are all single ladies. We have all received a unique gift from God. What is that gift you may ask? The Bible tells us in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
My challenge for you today is don't look at singleness as not being married. Instead, look at singleness as one of God's greatest creations. The one and only you!
