Today, I am so excited. You see on yesterday, another one of God's promises was fulfilled in my life. For those of you who have been following me, you know I was working on a book: From the Pit to the Palace: A Testimony of Faith, Forgiveness, and Freedom. Well, on Monday, May 13, 2019 my book posted on Amazon. It was one of my happiest moments. So much so, I could hardly keep my composure.
Please note this book is one simple way of letting you know if you "Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:4 Although there is so much more I can share about faith and forgiveness, I did not want to overwhelm you and make you run away. I don't want you to feel you are being forced to do anything, instead I want you to know that I am simply encouraging you.
Let's be honest, forgiveness is that one thing we do when we are absolutely ready. No one can make us do it. However, when we are genuinely ready to do so, the Lord will step in on our behalf and before you know it, that thing that used to irritate us doesn't irritate us any more. It's like the old alka seltzer commercial. Plop plop fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is.
So today, I want to encourage each of you to begin the process of forgiveness. Remember, forgiveness is about you. It's not a freedom ticket for the person who hurt you. See, they will eventually have to do the same thing in some way shape or form before its over.
God wants us to let go of those things that keep us burdened down. He tells us in Matthew 11:8, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out this is one of the best deals anyone could ever offer. You give me rest for the weight I've been carrying. Here you go God, you can have it; and I repent for taking so long to do what you asked me to do.
As I continue to take this journey, I pray that you will continue to pray with and for me, and each other. Remember, this team is only as strong as the weakest player.
