Lord God I can't stop thinking about a conversation I had with a very dear friend of mine. In the past, my friend made so many mistakes that cost him so much. But right now Lord I believe he is genuinely trying to do the right thing. Unfortunately, the past keeps raising it's ugly head. Someone is always reminding him of what he used to be and what he used to do.
My heart aches for him because there are times when he actually fall prey to the antics of the enemy. You know Lord the ones where he doesn't want you to believe you are any better than you ever were. That you will never be any more than you already are. Today Lord, I reach out to you on behalf of my friend, myself and everyone reading this. Please God help us get delivered from people, help us get delivered from the negativity that bogs our minds down so much.
Ok so the things people remember us doing yes, we did it. The things people remember us saying, yes, we said it. But God more likely than not there are some things about them that someone is remembering at this very hour. The beautiful thing is with you, you know what we've done yet you don't hold it against us.
I just have to say this. Sometimes we "don't forget" Christians need to read a little further into the Bible than just Genesis. If we went a little deeper, we will find in some of the lost books like Micah that your word tells us in Chapter 7 how much compassion you have for your children when we mess up.
Micah 7:18-20, "Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old."
This is the reason why I choose to worship. Even when I do wrong, God has a way of still making me feel loved. I don't care what you've done or said for that matter. Yes, we did, now what? If it had the capability of changing anything in our lives, I would 100% support the discussion. Unfortunately, remembering it, bringing it back up or even hurting someone with it does not change the fact it is written in the history of our lives.
I am neither minimizing nor maximizing anything. I am neither condemning nor condoning anyone. All I'm saying is yes, we did it; and in some cases we have even apologized for our behavior. Let's just leave it alone, leave each other alone and continue to vigorously pray one for another.
